SHLUK – Shluk is the Nuxalk First Nation word for dried salmon, a culinary delicacy. You will learn how the mouth watering Shluk is made by cutting Bella Coola spring salmon into thin slices and drying them in a smoke house. The film is narrated by Al Elsey in the story-telling style he has made famous, and offers scenic shots of the Bella Coola Valley and drift net boats catching the fish in the river. This 24-minute video combines the talents of film makers Al Elsey, Barbara Grossman and singer/songwriter Dennis Lakusta.
